Mindfulness programs have been used as interventions for anxiety disorders. The program teaches participants to attend fully to the present moment, even when the present experience is inherently painful, and to adopt a nonjudgmental attitude when attending to the present moment.
Tactical Solutions
Program to assist in the mental health of veterans. The experience of military service is unique for each individual. Understanding a veterans service experience can help to understand them as a person. . The ocean has the cathartic ability to wash away negative feelings by putting them in the context of a much bigger more powerful picture. It also puts you in “the zone”, a place of singular focus where your daily stress can dissolve. It forces you to stay present and provides a burst of adrenaline. This adrenaline provides a sense of novelty and excitement that tends to be absent for veterans in the daily grind of civilian life. Sailing aboard SEA HORSE also requires a high level of physical exertion so it can be exhausting and helps participants sleep better at night, which is a huge plus for veterans who frequently suffer from poor sleep and nightmares.
